Open Stack Summit [Innovation at Happo-en]

The conference and party for the OpenStack Summit , an event related to Internet infrastructure, was held in the Shinagawa area in October 2015. It is a biannual global event, which attracts about 1,700 visitors. Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa and Happo-en were selected as its venues, because they allowed participants to experience the history and culture of the host city.
The conference was held at Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa over two days, and was followed by a dinner party at Happo-en.
On Day 1, the entire facility was decorated to look like an izakaya (Japanese-style tavern), and participants were entertained with the experience of playing taiko drums, interacting with geisha, visiting a maid café, and other events.
On Day 2, the first and second floors were reserved, and a variety of events was provided in each room, such as a samurai show and cosplay. This allowed participants to experience not only traditional Japanese culture but also modern subcultures.
