Meeting
Day Care Studies Convention in Hachioji
In July 2023, the Day Care Studies Convention was held in Tokyo Tama-Mirai-Messe. This event for people in various medical and welfare positions involved in outpatient rehabilitation (day care) attracted attendees from across Japan.
The theme of the 2023 convention, the 46th of its kind, was "local production and local consumption." Through lectures, symposia, oral presentations, and poster presentations, participants engaged in lively discussions and information sharing regarding the ideals of providing day care that enables people to continue living their lives in the places they call home.
The device exhibition site was also open to the general public, and visitors from outside the industry were able to come and see equipment used in rehabilitation, care, and medical services.

Sports Event
Bouldering World Cup (2days)
Top climbers from around the world assembled in Hachioji for IFSC - Climbing World Cup (B) - Hachioji (JPN) 2023, one of the sports featured in the Tokyo Olympic Games.
At the welcome reception in one of the city's convention facilities, visitors enjoyed Hachioji cuisine and Hachioji Kuruma Ningyo, a traditional form of puppet theater.
A tourist information booth and a souvenir stand were set up at the venue, selling local Hachioji goods and effectively promoting Hachioji to domestic and international visitors.

Familiarization Trip
Sightseeing at Mt. Takao
Located in Hachioji, Mt. Takao is a 599-meter-high mountain that can be easily climbed. In addition to its souvenir shops, there are many dining establishments where visitors can enjoy famous dishes like tororo (grated yam) soba noodles. Various museums, such as a museum of Takao flora and fauna and a trick art museum, are also located there.

International conference
The 21st International Symposium on Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics 2023
The 21st ISEM 2023 international conference took place at TOKYO-TAMA-MIRAI-MESSE (Tokyo Metropolitan Tama Business Activation Center) in November 2023. This Conference is an international discussion forum of analysis and research of phenomena through applied electromagnetic field analysis and computer simulation in mechanical engineering as well as a platform for new discoveries and developments in the field. A total of 244 people participated in the event, including 107 overseas persons from about ten countries and regions around the world, including the USA, EU and Asia.
Hachioji placed the winning bid to host the event at the 2019 Nanjing, China conference. The Hachioji Visitors & Convention Association was involved in various support activities over the past four years, including obtaining invitation letters, the introduction of the Hachioji MICE hosting subsidy, the introduction of various support available for MICE events in Tokyo , facility reservations, and recommendations for souvenirs, dining establishments, and tourist attractions.
During the four-day symposium, participants enjoyed Hachioji's dining, traditional culture, and tourist destinations.
